of the Europeanisation process ranging from the relationship between societal
integration and European polity building to the questions of property rights or
knowledge capacity in new member states. The volume is divided into three
sections, dealing with general social science perspective on the EU enlargement,
with challenges of Europeanisation and finally focusing on detailed aspects of
the integration processes in country studies (covering Bulgaria, Czech Republic,
Hungary, Poland, Romania). This book is intended for scholars, students, policy
makers and general readers interested in the new developments in the Eastern
