Janet Harkness: ISSP 1993 - Environment. ZUMA Report on the German
Study. ZUMA-Arbeitsbericht 96/03.
The International Social Survey Programme has been carrying out
attitudinal surveys on important areas of social science research since
1985. ZUMA is one of the four co-founders of the programme, which now has
26 member countries and several applications for membership pending. In
view of the growth in membership, the growth in available data and the
increased interest in ISSP data, ZUMA has decided to publish brief reports
in English documenting the implementation of the German modules for each
year. The first report is on the 1993 Environment module. The report
outlines the contents and design of the ISSP module and provides details
of the adaptation and implementation in Germany, from translation and
assessment procedures to pretests, sampling details, to fielding
procedures and dates. The report also includes the English source
questionnaire and the German questionnaire, general information on the
ISSP and on ISSP surveys, plus a list of ISSP members and their addresses.
This last information, together with institute descriptions and the ISSP
bibliography, will be regularly updated at the ISSP
www-site.
