News

Part of CEWS’ original mandate is the compiling and preparing of relevant information on the topic of women in science and research for specific target groups. Our target groups are thus provided with an informed basis for decisions and new action options. The CEWS information offering encompasses feeds to areas of interest, an events calendar, the CEWSJournal, and much more.

Statistics

The section on statistics offers rapid access to fundamental statistical data on women in science and research. Gender-specific statistics form the basis for analyses of the situation of women in science and research. These statistics are also necessary for gender equality policy decision making. The implementation of gender mainstreaming, in particular, thus demands true knowledge of the situation and therefore requires gender-specific data.

FemConsult Database

CEWS offers FemConsult, an online database comprised of women post-docs and professors in science. This database contains current scientific profiles of several thousand female experts from all disciplines and from throughout the German speaking areas, who are active in universities and non-university, higher education research institutions, as well as in industry and business. FemConsult makes it possible to quickly and easily find and contact women scientists for immediate, current queries or offers at any time.

Literature Database

The CEWS online literature database is a bibliographic database on all relevant aspects of gender equality in science and research, on support measures, on career trajectories as well as the marginalization of women scientists.

Gender Equality Law

The Gender Equality Law database offers an overview on the equal opportunity relevant regulations in the higher education act as well as on the science relevant provisions on equal opportunities for men and women at the national and federal levels.

Institutions successfully striving towards and implementing equal opportunity measures in their personnel and institutional policies are recognized with the TOTAL E-QUALITY rating. CEWS advises universities and research institutions in their application to obtain the TOTAL E-QUALITY seal.
