Vita

Studium der Soziologie (Nebenfächer: Psychologie und Philosophie) an der Universität Köln, M.A. 2005. Die Magisterarbeit, die mit dem Fakultätspreis der philosophischen Fakultät der Uni Köln ausgezeichnet wurde, befasste sich mit Vorurteilen gegenüber Immigranten anhand von Daten der ersten Runde des European Social Survey (ESS). Promotion in Soziologie an der University of Oxford/Nuffield College, 2009. Für meine Doktorarbeit habe ich die Messung von Bildungsniveaus für die international vergleichende Umfrageforschung erforscht und weiterentwickelt. Viele der aus dieser Arbeit entwickelten Empfehlungen wurden in Runde 5 des ESS umgesetzt. PostDoc am Nuffield College (2009-2011). 2011-2014 bei der Wissensvermittlung bei GESIS wissenschaftliche Koordinatorin der GESIS Summer School in Survey Methodology. Seit 2012 Leiterin der Stabsabteilung Wissensvermittlung. Seit Juni 2013 Projektleitung für "Computer-Assisted Measurement and Coding of Educational Qualifications in Surveys (CAMCES)" finanziert durch den Leibniz-Wettbewerb. Im April 2015 Wechsel in die Abteilung SDM zu Forschung und Beratung im Bereich der Messung sozio-demographischer Merkmale. Visiting Fellow beim Nuffield College, University of Oxford, Trinity Term 2015.

Beratung zur Erhebung und Analyse des individuellen Bildungsniveaus in (insbes. internationalen) Umfragen und zur Internationalen Standardklassifikation im Bildungswesen (ISCED), z.B. für den European Social Survey (ESS), Survey of Health and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) und die deutsche Teilstudie des Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC).

Lehre, Beratung und Entwicklung von Angeboten im Bereich der Messung sozio-demographischer Merkmale insbes. für international vergleichende Studien.
