Eurobarometer special topics

Intermittently Standard Eurobarometer have investigated special topics, such as agriculture, biotechnology, energy, environment, gender roles, health related issues, immigration, poverty, regional identity, science and technology, working conditions, urban traffic etc. In the case of some  supplementary studies, special youth and elderly samples have been drawn. Starting with Eurobarometer 34.1 additional supplementary surveys on special issues have been conducted which might only include a reduced set of standard trend questions or demographics.

A Eurobarometer specific subject tree supports the identification of these topical modules throughout the survey series. Whenever possible, the UK Data Archive's HASSET thesaurus and the closely related ICPSR subject thesaurus

Each keyword leads to the study profile of the relevant Eurobarometer survey(s) for direct access to all available documentation (study description, codebook, basic bilingual and country specific field questionnaires) and related primary publications (reports).

Please notice that the keywords in the subject tree only refer to distinct special topic modules in the Eurobarometer surveys. Stand alone questions or general EU topics are not considered. The appearance of several surveys under the same topic does not necessarily imply that identical or equivalent questions have been asked. The main Eurobarometer trends (i.e. identical questions over times) are documented separately. For detailed question retrieval please use the free text search in codebooks and questionnaires facility, for study level retrieval please use the Data Holdings Catalogue.
