  • Communication platform Knowledge Base Social Sciences in Eastern Europe
The communication portal Knowledge Base Social Sciences in Eastern Europe offers a living and long term mapping of the social science disciplines in Eastern Europe. It was developed by GESIS Service Agency Eastern Europe in cooperation with Collegium Budapest and Maison des Sciences de l'Homme and it aims to support East-West scientific communication, cooperation and information exchange in West and Eastern Europe.

  • Collegium Budapest handbook project on Social Sciences in Central and Eastern Europe (SSCEE)
This stock taking project of the social sciences in Central and Eastern Europe was supported by the EU and initiated by the Collegium Budapest. Partners from Western and Eastern European countries are involved.

  • Social Science Associations in Eastern Europe
Exchange arrangements exist with, first and foremost, sociological and political science associations in Eastern Europe. These associations are important nodes, who also support the dissemination of German-language social scientific research results to Eastern Europe, in that they report on the activities of the Branch Office in their newsletters and journals.

  • Network of Correspondents of the GESIS Service Agency Eastern Europe
The correspondents of the GESIS Service Agency are Eastern European social scientists, who are active in the research process in their own countries. Under contract to the Branch Office, they monitor, on the one hand, the newest developments in the social sciences "on-site" and report regularly on the developments in the science policy and its structures, on social science meetings and events and publications, etc. They also provide support for surveys on research projects and institutes, and arrange contacts for the GESIS Service Agency Eastern Europe. On the other hand, they promote the aims of the Service Agency - to make the German-language social sciences better known in Eastern Europe - by creating open access to Eastern European social science.

  • Guest Scientists
The GESIS Service Agency Eastern Europe regularly invites Eastern European social scientists as guest scientists. During their visits, they have access to the German-language social scientific research results, bring information from their countries to the GESIS Service Agency and deliver lectures on the situation of the social sciences in their countries. The Service Agency Eastern Europe arranges contacts for them in institutes in the Berlin region (for example, BIVS, DIW, WZB) and also invites guest scientists from other Berlin institutions to visit the Service Agency.

  • INION
There are close working relationships with the Institute for Scientific Information in the Social Sciences (INION) in Moscow. A cooperation contract regulates the joint use of databanks and the creation of joint products.
