What Is The ISSP?
The International Social Survey Programme (ISSP) is a continuing annual programme of cross-national collaboration on surveys
covering topics important for social science research. Since 1983 it brings together pre-existing social science projects and
co-ordinates research goals, thereby adding a cross-national, cross-cultural perspective to the individual national studies.
The secretariat of the ISSP
co-ordinates the official activities of the group. GESIS-ZA as the
official archive carries out the data service of the ISSP since 1986.
GESIS-ZUMA, the national ISSP member, is responsible for the German
modules and convenor of the ISSP methodology research
groups. Detailed information can be found in the 'Introduction to the ISSP'.
