Jena election study 1990
Through the working group on elections of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, surveys were carried out in the city of Jena on the elections taking place in the GDR in
1990, in the spring for the East German Parliament and in the winter for the federal
parliament of the FRG. The independent postal survey (response rates about 25%) was
carried out 14 days before the East German parliament elections in March of 1990, the
communal elections in May of 1990, the state elections ('Landtagswahl') in October of 1990
and the federal parliament elections in December of 1990 in order to investigate the
social situation and the political orientation of the Jena population.
