GESIS-ZA provides rules and guidelines for the preparation of data and documentation for the ISSP studies. They are of interest mainly to the data providers, i.e. the ISSP member institutions: Members delivering their national data sets are strictly obliged to follow the rules documented here.

The pages and files linked below contain the ISSP archiving rules of GESIS-ZA, the requirements for form and documentation of national data deliveries which have been passed at ISSP meetings, and - as a service to the members preparing their data sets - so called "standard setup" files for each ISSP module, which define the technical format and labels of the data file to be archived.

GESIS-ZA and GESIS-IZ (Bonn) have developed an easy to use software application for harmonising individual country data sets to the common ISSP standard setup. The first release of the so called ISSP DataWizard is now available to ISSP members.
