POLITBAROMETER

The "Politbarometer" surveys performed by the Forschungsgruppe Wahlen (Institute for election research) for the ZDF (Second German TV network) at about monthly intervals since 1977 are intended to illustrate the opinions and attitudes of eligible Germans with regard to current events and issues as well as to political parties and individual politicians.

The data from the usual 11 monthly polls per year is integrated, documented and archived in one cumulative data record at the GESIS Central Archive. Apart from the annual cumulation, all released yearly cumulations carried out since 1977 are available. The data set for the current time series is based on a selection of variables comparable over the entire period since 1977. The documentation is available online under study profiles.
