The European Commission's Eurobarometer - Access to Primary Data and Documentation

  Monitoring the public opinion in the European Union is the mission of the Eurobarometer programme, consisting of four survey instruments resp. series: the Standard & Special Eurobarometer, the Flash Eurobarometer, and in addition the Central & Eastern and Candidate Countries Eurobarometer. The surveys are conducted by internationally recognized survey research instititutes on behalf of the European Commission and its responsible Directorate-General(s) and departments in the role of the principal investigator.

Survey results are regularly published in official reports by the Eurobarometer unit of the European Commission.

Eurobarometer (EB) primary data and related documentation are placed at the disposal of the social science community by the European Commission for research and training. They are stored at the GESIS data archive department (formerly Central Archive for Empirical Social Research) and at the ICPSR. They are made available European- and worldwide through the networks of the Social Science Data Archives for re-use in statistical analysis.

Online access to the the Standard & Special Eurobarometer, the Candidate Countries and Eastern Eurobarometer is provided via the GESIS ZACAT data portal, including question or variable retrieval, tabulations and download of analysis data sets. All Eurobarometer are available through the data catalogue DBK download. These online data services are free of charge.
