Workshop “Practical Relevance of Social Sciences in South-East-Europe"
December 8 -10, 2000. Sofia
The Bulgarian National UNESCO-MOST Committee (Representative: Nikolai Genov)
and the Department Information Transfer Eastern Europe invited 15 social
scientists from South-Eastern Europe for a three day workshop, mostly authors
who worked on contributions for the collected series “Social Sciences in
South-East-Europe” (edited by Nicolai Genov, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences,
Institute for Sociology and Social Science Information Centre). The similarities
and differences in the status of social sciences in the various countries of
South-Eastern- Europe were discussed as represented in the respective reports.
Related applications of the social sciences as well as opportunities for
cooperation within the region were among other items included.
