Database Social Science Research INstitutions in Eastern Europe - INEastE

The INEastE database provides current English language descriptions of social science institutions in Eastern Central and Eastern Europe. The categorization of disciplines is based on GESIS-IZ’s social science classification.

Contents and updates

INEastE has been maintained since 1993. The majority of the institutions relate to the higher education sector and Academies of Science. Approximately 2.995 institutes are presently available for searches in the INEastE database. Around 250 documents per year are added to the database, which is up-dated on a regular basis.

Information sources

Substantial sources of information in INEastE are surveys, utilisation of Internet information, examination of source material and network contacts. The description of relevant social science institutions is hierarchically structured and comprises the smallest organisational units (i.e. chairs). Thus, INEastE offers a comprehensive view of the research landscape in Eastern Europe.

Pool of addresses

An inhouse-Pool contains about 3.500 east European addresses, which can be used for arrangement of contacts, locating of cooperation partners as well as for finding the experts and guest scientists. Information is available on your enquiry.
