Databases on Eastern Europe
The databases INEastE - Social Science Research INstitutions in Eastern Europe -
and the GESIS SocioGuide Eastern Europe comprise the core of GESIS-IZ’s services in support of communication between Eastern and Western European science.
The database PROEastE - Social Science Research PROjects in Eastern Europe
- is accessible as an archive database since 2003.
The databases cover the following social science sub-disciplines:
- Sociology
- Methods in the Social Sciences
- Political science
- Social policy
- Social psychology, Psychology
- Education and Pedagogics

- Science of Communication
Economics
- Demography
- Ethnology
- Historical social research, Social history
- Labor market and Employment research

Further interdisciplinary areas of the social sciences, such as, for
example, research on women, research on leisure, gerontology, social
welfare, criminology (see also social science classification
are
also represented in the databases.
The databases offer reference information on the Eastern European social
sciences as well as support for the research practice (search for focus
groups, experts, research partners, speakers, etc.) and are available to
everyone. Current information from the databases also regularly appears
in publications on Eastern European social sciences.
