The GESIS bodies

Alongside the President the following bodies act as organs of the German Social Science Infrastructure Services Association (GESIS):

As a supervisory body the Board of Trustees advises and supervises the President. All affairs and arrangements of fundamental significance that exceed the ordinary course of business require the prior consent of the Board of Trustees.

The Scientific Advisory Board monitors and gives advice on the association’s long-term development and assists the Board of Trustees in fulfilling its functions in accordance with the recommendations issued by the Leibnitz-Gemeinschaft senate. It is elected by the Board of Trustees.

Members of the association include universities and professional associations of the social sciences. The General Meeting of members adopts resolutions concerning amendments to the constitution as well as the dissolution of the association and elects the members of the User Advisory Board.

The General Meeting of members establishes a User Advisory Board, which aim is to advice the institute in the development of its services. Thus the practical user interests and problems could be recognized and respected, and the design and quality of our services can be improved.
