The President of GESIS

Prof. Dr. Christof Wolf is the President of GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences and Full Professor of Social Stratification Analysis at the School of Social Sciences at the University of Mannheim.

Prof. Dr. Wolf joined GESIS in November 2004 as Scientific Director the department Monitoring Society and Social Change and took over the Vice-presidency in December 2009. Since June 2015 he is Acting President of GESIS.

  • Since 2015 member of the National Coordinating Team for the German Collection of the European Social Survey

  • Since 2014 member and speaker of the Scientific Board of the project „Dritter Bericht zur sozioökonomischen Entwicklung in Deutschland“ funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research
  • Since 2012 co-editor of the journal Survey Methods: Insight from the Field
  • Since2010 member of the Executive Committee of the European Values Study
