GESIS Publications
Publishing research means issuing the scientific community’s latest results and insights for discussion. Our researchers not only publish in reputable journals and for well-known publishing houses, but GESIS also publishes independent journals and a series of user-oriented publications:
GESIS journals include the latest contributions in the areas of
- historical social research (Historical Social Research - HSR),
- survey methodology (methods, data, analyses - mda),
- and social reporting (Social Indicators Information Service - ISI).
GESIS publishes the bi-annual Data Report, a social report for Germany, in cooperation with the Federal Statistical Office and Social Science Research Center Berlin.
The GESIS in-house series have been revised. They include various publications formats ranging from practice-oriented representation of survey research to books on major research activities:
- GESIS scientific series: in-house publicated books of research reports and contributions at conventions
- GESIS working papers: Research results in differents stages of elaboration to enhance the discussion in the scientific community
- GESIS technical reports: key information for users from data and development activity
- How-to: user-oriented presentation of social science methodology
In our publication archive you will find former publication series, i.e. the ZA-Information, ZUMA-Nachrichten, IZ research reports, ZUMA working papers and methods reports, etc.
In addition to our research publications, we regularly publish service publications on a variety of different social science and socially relevant subjects such as
- publications of CEWS
- “Recherche Spezial” (Research Extras)
- “Social Sciences at a Glance”
- and the Sowiport Topic Feeds
