Year of foundation: 1947
Historical development: The IIPE was founded by the Yugoslavian
government to prepare analyses and studies for the federal organs. In the
mid-sixties the Institute established itself as an independent non-profit
scientific institution.
Staff: The Institute employs thirty research fellows and librarians
and ten administrative employees.
Centres: The Institute has eight research centres:
* Centre for International Politics and International Law;
* Centre for International Economics;
* Centre for International Finances;
* Centre for European Economic and Social Legislation;
* Centre for European Studies;
* Centre for Neighbouring Countries and Regional Co-operation;
* Centre for Mediterranean Studies;
* Centre for North American Studies
Research: Institute's main research fields:
* International political and economic relations;
* Security studies;
* European studies and international law.
Publications/ papers: The Institute publishes two periodicals:
* Quarterly "Medjunarodni problemi" (International Problems)
published in Serbian or English with abstracts in English or Serbian
respectively;
* A bimonthly "Pregled evropskog zakonodavstva" (Survey of the
European Union Legislation) published in Serbian
Events: The Institute organises international conferences, workshops
and seminars dealing with international economics and politics.
Co-operations: International Institute for Strategic Studies, London;
the Royal Institute of International Affairs, London; London School of
Economics; The Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Moscow;
The International Commission of Jurists, Geneva etc.
