Main fields:
The Academy of Administration is the central institution providing training
and professional examinations for public administration employees. The basic
responsibilities of the institution are as follows:
* the organisation and development of horizontal programmes of advanced
training and education of public employees;
* the preparation and execution of professional examinations for trainees,
professional examinations on the administrative procedure and other tests of
knowledge;
* the organisation of foreign language courses (general and specialised),
Publications/ papers: Zbornik Upravne akademije, (Journal of the
Academy of Administration), since spring 2000, bi-annual publication with focus
on training within public administration in Slovenia.
Teaching: Public Administration and the Administrative Procedure, New
Public Management, Management in Administration - Personal Development and
Management Skills; Human Recource Management, European Affairs, Public Finance
and Common Functional Areas
Services:
* analysis of the needs for advanced training and education among public
employees;
* the drawing-up of training programmes;
* the implementation of individual modules, seminars and courses;
* the evaluation of programmes from the aspect of quality, and their ongoing
review and adjustment
One special quality possessed is that it can customise its services to the
needs of an individual user in terms of designing tailor-made programmes and
transferring the training centre to regional training centres in Slovenj Gradec,
Mozirje, Jesenice, Murska Sobota, Trebnje, Nova Gorica and Ptuj.
