Year of foundation: East Ukrainian Fund of Social research was
established in May 1996 upon the initiative of sociologists, political
scientists, economists, lawyers of the Kharkov National University as well as of
representatives of business communities, mass media and the municipal government
of Kharkov.
Financing: The Fund is a nongovernmental, non-profit organisation. Its
activity is financed by denotations and grants.
Main fields:
* scientific analysis, assessment and forecasting of social, economic,
ecological, ethnic and other problems of the Eastern Ukraine and modern
Ukrainian society as a whole;
* sociological and socio-cultural evaluation of administrative decisions, of
political, economic and social programs of regional management as well as of
management at the level of an enterprise;
* political marketing, consulting, organizational and informational support
of election campaigns;
* analysis of mass media's market and advertising service;
* studying social mechanisms of development of education, science and
culture;
* analysis of consumer's attitude towards food and goods market;
* informational support of financial, economic and investment activity;
* expertise and correction of social tension's level at the enterprises with
different forms of property; management consulting.

Events: International Workshop "Peculiarities of Electoral
Behaviour of Population in Post-Communist Countries of Eastern Europe"
(1999, in collaboration with Friedrich Ebert Foundation and Berlin Scientific
Center for Social Research (FRG)).
Co-operations: The Fund cooperates with sociologists, political
scientists and other researchers in various regions of Ukraine and maintains a
regional and national network of interviewers.
