of constitutional state in Poland in comparison to different European models.
* Political systems of Western Europe and Northern America. Political and
socio-economic transformation of post-socialist countries.
* Social teaching of the Catholic Church in view of crucial political and
economic problems of contemporary world.
* Demographic and population policy. Bioethics and bio-policy .

* Church - state - society in Europe
Publications/ papers: The Institute publishes working papers on
European integration entitled "Studium Generale Europa" in Polish
language.
Degree courses: The Institute offers MA courses in political science
and sociology and PhD-courses in sociology.
Events: The Institute organised together with Polish Academy of
Science and German Historical Institute an international conference on
"Totalitarianism and Authoritarianism in Europe. Short- and Long-Term
Perspectives" (Warsaw, September 2000) and together with the Department of
Political Science of the German Society for East European "Current Problems
of Polish-Ukrainian Relations and Their Historical Roots" (Szczecin,
November 2000).
