Main fields: The Civic Institute is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit think-tank of conservative orientation, committed to support and promotion of ideas and values essential to proper functioning of a free society. The main task of the Institute is to support and develop the conservative way of thinking (remark by Zdenka Mansfeldova: strong orientation on Christian values, traditional family values, strong arguments against abortion etc.)

. Monthly bulletin BULETIN OI in electronic and printed form, publishes translated works of famous foreign scholars and works written by domestic specialists in the particular area.

. Studien - written by domestic authors, topics: family policy, social policy, public policy, church and church property, family values and Czech society, family and civil society, freedom and order

During the years 1997-99 the development of the library was supported by Donner Foundation (American foundation), which enabled the Institute to buy many foreign books.
