Newsletter - Social Science in Eastern Europe 1999-3
EDITORIAL
We reported about an envisaged enlargement of the GESIS branch's Internet
offer in the March edition of Newsletter. This time we would like to draw your
attention to what has been realized so far.You will now find the PROEastE databank with information on social scientific
research projects in Eastern European countries compiled by us. You can use the
fill-in form to search for subjects or specific words, authors, institutions or
the duration of projects, etc. Social scientists from Eastern Europe who cannot
find their research projects in the databank, can directly provide us with the
relevant information via Internet. Open the fill-in form
and give your name and your password. This leads you to another fill-in form where
you can include all information on your project. Should questions arise or
problems occur while browsing or filling in the forms, you can contact us at any
time. The further extension of the PROEastE databank is a pressing task for us.
Many Eastern European social scientists already have access to the World Wide
Web. Therefore, we request your active collaboration in order to accelerate
communication between Eastern and Western researchers, using all facilities of
this new medium.
