Project description:

The project "infoconnex : Information Network Education - Social Sciences - Psychology" ("Informationsverbund Pädagogik - Sozialwissenschaften - Psychologie") is intended to guarantee access to fulltext documents for scientists, researchers and private individuals in the fields of psychology, social sciences and education. 
In a first step, journal articles will be made available over the internet. The objective is to build an internet platform offering document searches with the option of paying a fee for a direct link to fulltext documents. Keywords are "pay-per-view", meaning individual accounting for each document, and "one-stop-shopping", meaning that fulltext documents can be ordered from the source of choice (e.g. from the Information Network, from publishers or agencies). In addition to the Social Science Information Centre, whose primary contributions are the development of the technical infrastructure, the WWW-surface, and the search engine for the different databases, the Frankfurt based German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) and the Trier based Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID) are also involved in the project. 
The special subject collection libraries of the fields of knowledge concerned (UB-Erlangen-Nürnberg, USB Köln and UB Saarbrücken) realise the acquisition of the periodicals and conduct the negotiations with the publishing houses and agencies in a separate project sponsored by the "German Research Foundation" and carried out in co-ordination with the Information Network.
