Text and content analysis
GESIS advises researchers on the coding and analysis of open-ended questions and other textual data in the social sciences. Both qualitative and quantitative text and content analysis are covered either with or without computer support.
Main topics are:
- Open-ended questions
- Content analysis
- Development of classification and coding schemes
- Definition of content analytical dictionaries
- Automatic coding
- Use of Software in qualitative and quantitative content analysis
- Reliability and validity
- Other text analysis approaches (for example, co-occurrence analysis or text mining)
For many years and as part of its consultation and service activities GESIS has been offering a program for automatic coding based on a user-developed content analytical dictionary (TEXTPACK).
