GML

The German Microdata Lab (GML) collects microdata of official statistics and consumer panel data of market research. It offers comprehensive services concerning the data and develops instruments for the implementation of social scientific concepts. We cooperate with research centres of the German Federal Statistical Office, the German Federal Labour Office, the Association of German Social Insurance Bodies, the Institute for the Study of Labour, the GFK, as well as with the Statistical Offices of the German states.

Social Indicators The work of the Social Indicators unit concentrates on social monitoring and social reporting. Thus changes in the social structure and the development of living conditions are continuously observed and analyzed using the instruments of social indicators research. The department's tasks include the provision of scientific infrastructure and services. Its research activities focus on general and methodological topics within the field of social indicators research.
