Weighting for an all German Representative Sample

Since 1990, the ISSP in Germany is fielded in two separate samples, one for Eastern Germany and one for Western Germany . The sample for Eastern Germany deliberately over-samples the five Eastern federal states. If an all German representantive sample is taken as the unit of analysis (rather than the Eastern and Western states) weighting is necessary.

The respective weighting factors for Eastern and Western Germany calculated for each ISSP survey since 1990 can be found below.
