The Welfare Surveys 1978 to 1998

Time Series Data on the Development of Welfare in the Federal Republic of Germany

The following compilation of data presents results from the Welfare Surveys 1978 to 1998. These results cover a total of 12 topic areas using standardised tables.
The tables comprise elaborate information on differences in the level and the development of welfare for different subpopulations, such as differences between men and women, between the young and the old, between people with lower and those with higher levels of education and between members of low and high income households.

The tables are ordered by topic area and available as Adobe Acrobat PDF files. To view or print PDF files, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 3 or higher), which is available as self-extracting freeware for various operating systems (e.g. Windows 95/NT, Linux or Macintosh). All tables are in German.
