The Digital Information System Social Indicators (DISI), Version 2.1

The updated Version 2.1 of the Digital Information System Social Indicators (DISI) is now available. It offers a convenient and easy to use way to access the data included in the German System of Social Indicators. This database comprises facts on 14 life-domains that include almost 400 indicators and more than 3000 time series. It thus provides detailed information on changes in the objective living conditions and the subjective quality of life as well as on changes in the social structure of the Federal Republic of Germany. 

The Information System covers a period of observation that stretches from the early 1950's until the presence. Starting from the early 1990's the indicator system covers the entire population of the unified Germany. In addition to national averages separate time series data for the eastern and the western part of the country are being presented whenever possible.

Both, the user-friendly presentation of the data in the register and the query option included in the programme make it easy to retrieve indicator data on specific topics. The time series chosen are presented either as a chart or in tabular form. Moreover, the program's export-function allows to process the data in other applications.
