This cumulative data base on public understanding of science (PUS) integrates a common set of indicators covering public engagement, interest, knowledge and attitudes of the general public in Europe along with some demographic indicators. They are derived from five Eurobarometer surveys conducted between 1989 and 2005 (EB31, EB38.1, EB55.2, CCEB2002.3, EB63.1).
The harmonisation project was realised by:
- Martin W. Bauer, London School of Economics and Political Science (responsible researcher)
- Rajesh Shukla and Preeti Kakkar, National Council of Applied Economic Research, New Delhi (data harmonisation and integration)
and supported by GESIS (department Data Archive for the Social Sciences).
