Call: "Following the recent Forum on the future of gender equality in the EU which took place on 20-21 April, the European Commission has launched a public consultation on equality between women and men in the EU. The Forum brought together more than 250 participants to exchange ideas on how to effectively achieve a gender equal society in the EU.
The purpose of the public consultation is to collect views from a broad range of stakeholders in the context of the preparation of the Commission’s policy on equality between women and men after 2015. The questionnaire is available in 23 official EU languages. The deadline for contributions is 21 July 2015.
Equality between women and men is one of the European Union's founding values. It goes back to 1957 when the principle of equal pay for equal work became part of the Treaty of Rome. The European Union's achievements in fostering equality between women and men have helped to change the lives of many European citizens for the better."
