This presentation discusses the article with the same title, published in Feminist Economics. Though feminist economics encourages methodological plurality, quantitative methods and econometrics have overtaken the discipline in recent years. Drawing upon insights from feminist economics, queer methods, and intersectional approaches, this paper sets forth practical guidelines for feminists using econometric methods. It raises questions for contemporary feminist economists to consider as we grapple with the methodological identity of our field.

Dr. Sarah F. Small is an assistant professor in the department of economics at the University of Utah and the book review editor for Feminist Economics. Her research is in feminist economics and focuses on a variety of topics including care work and markets, public policy, history of economic thought, methodology, and pedagogy. She earned her PhD in economics at Colorado State University and recently held research positions at Duke and Rutgers universities.
