"The 'Encouragement to Advance' project was concurrently both quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated with the aim of ensuring quality as well as for substantiating how it was conducted. The author gives a detailed presentation and interpretation of the evaluation design, method and quantitative results. One of the positive results was that approximately 90% of the participants stated that they would recommend seminars of this kind to female colleagues in similar situations. Continuation and further development of the seminar concept while tailoring it to the appointment procedures in more EU countries could have positive effects on greater participation of women scientists in the European research landscape and for realizing the goals of the Lisbon Treaty."
