The analysis data sets are checked, formatted and comprehensively documented in accordance with archival standards for data set formatting and documentation (DDI). Initially this was accomplished by the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), until GESIS started sharing the archive activities in the early 90s.

Dataset Eurobarometer GESIS data catalogue

  • Edited data and documentation are successively published for online retrieval, browsing and elementary analysis via ZACAT and for download through the data catalogue. Detailed documentation is also provided in the form of variable reports (codebooks) in pdf. The complete collection can be obtained on CD-ROM.
  • The Eurobarometer trend file integrates selected standard trends and demographics across space and time. It is produced and maintained in cooperation with the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES).
  • Each dataset (version) is persistently identified and registered with a unique digital object identifier (doi). The corresponding URL (http://dx.doi.org/10.4232/1.nnnnn) will always lead you to the dataset location in the GESIS data catalogue.
