The program “Childcare Services for Scientists in Higher Education in Baden-Württemberg” from the Ministry for Science, Research and Art of Baden-Württemberg promotes the development of need-based daycare for children under three years of age. CEWS has been commissioned by the ministry to evaluate this program. The objectives of this evaluation are to check on the particulars of application and granting as well as to analyze the actual implementation of the program considering aspects of input, output and impact. CEWS gathers data using a combination of file review, interviews and online surveys. These surveys are directed at the responsible persons at the universities, at equal opportunity officers as well as non-professorial faculty, both with and without children. The results of the evaluation study were delivered in the summer of 2011.
