Report on the evaluation of equal opportunity of women and men in the Health Research Framework Programme of the Federal Government

The goal of this evaluation is to monitor the implementation of the federal government's fundamental decisions on gender mainstreaming in health research and its promotion. The project is carried out on behalf of the BMBF (German Federal Ministry of Education and Research).
Consideration of gender specific aspects at all levels of the research process should be surveyed by addressing the following topics:
Concept and design of the health research framework program:
Participation of women and men in the application process and in research promotion
Participation of women and men on assessment committees
Integration of gender relevant content in calls for bids and research projects  

Action recommendations will be worked out on the basis of the evaluation which should indicate possibilities for improvements taking into consideration gender mainstreaming and equal opportunities for women and men. The evaluation is aimed at further developing the program with a view to improved inclusion of women scientists.
