Goals & Framework Conditions
TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e.V. has set itself the goal of achieving equal opportunities in business, science and politics, anchoring them sustainably and thus bringing about a paradigm shift in personnel policy.
The basis for the TOTAL E-QUALITY award is the processing of a self-assessment tool. It also contains suggestions on how universities and research institutions can further develop their equal opportunities policy and improve its quality.
Against the background of ongoing reform processes at scientific institutions, the TOTAL E-QUALITY rating is intended to help promote the inclusion of proven and innovative gender equality measures and parameters in the reorganization or to integrate them directly. The self-assessment tool also enables the university or research institution to make the status of gender equality in its own institution visible.
A list of examples of good practices can give new impetus to the implementation of equal opportunities. This will also support the work of women's and gender equality officers.
The aim is to change structures and framework conditions in such a way that equal participation of women in all qualification levels is achieved and significantly more management positions are filled by women.
The award underlines the importance attached to equal opportunities within a scientific institution and can therefore be used as a marketing tool. The application for the award is based on using a self-assessment tool developed with the association TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e.V., the Sozialforschungsstelle Dortmund sfs – a center of applied social research with a thematic focus on labour and (social) innovation – and experts from science and research.
The pilot project was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The applications are examined by an independent jury of the TOTAL E-QUALITY Deutschland e.V. association. The jury consists of competent representatives from science and research.
The award is granted for three years and consists of a certificate and the rights to use the TOTAL E-QUALITY logo for marketing and public relations.
