Eurobarometer Data Service

Countries, regions, population coverage

The Central and Eastern Eurobarometer have been carried out in up to 20 countries of region at almost the same time. Representative samples were drawn for the national populations (citizens) aged 15 years and over. The regular sample size (in the sense of completed interviews) was 1000 respondents per country. The third wave could not cover some areas in Armenia, Georgia and Moldavia due to hostilities. In waves 6 and 7 the region of Abkhazia in Georgia could not be covered due to the state of war, and in parts of Croatia some areas in Slavonia, Dalmatia, Lika, Kordun and Banija were substituted by corresponding localities in the same regions. In 1996 the survey in Yugoslavia did not cover Kosovo.
