The GESIS AppKit is continuously maintained and improved to ensure long-term usability. With our latest update to version 1.12.0, not only several bug fixes and improvements are being rolled out but also a new feature is introduced. The updated online platform for creating studies remains accessible to researchers through the GESIS AppKit. The updated apps for study participants remain available in the App Store and Play Store.
New Feature
You can now customize your notifications with your own title, text, and image! Tailor the notification content to match the topic of your study or experiment with different styles for intervention studies. For example:
- Neutral: “Remember to drink enough water.”
- Informative: “Remember to drink enough water to support your health and concentration.”
- Humorous: “You’ve watered your plants, don’t forget to water yourself!”
- Direct instruction: “Please drink a glass of water now.”
This feature gives you greater flexibility to adapt the tone of your communication to your study’s needs.
Improvements
- Enhanced export and monitoring: All registered participants who were targeted by a survey are now visible in the export, helping you monitor participation more effectively.
- Simplified participant management: Deactivate and delete participants more easily.
- Improved login stability: Automatic removal of blank spaces in the login code field prevents login errors caused by copy-paste mistakes.
- Smoother registration: A new note encourages researchers to register with their institutional email address to ensure a quicker and smoother registration process.
Fixes
- Corrected wording in the registration pop-up.
- Fixed an issue that previously prevented image uploads when gallery access was limited.
