As part of the collaboration with the Hasso Plattner Institute's (HPI) Digital Health Cluster, the final project meeting of a remarkable student cooperation took place last week. The aim was to develop an app that integrates data from wearables - such as smartwatches and fitness trackers - into the GESIS AppKit.
The Bachelor students, supervised by Dr. med. Anatol-Fiete Näher and Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Lothar H. Wieler, have developed an application with which health and sensor data can be easily recorded and directly linked to surveys in the GESIS AppKit in the future. The combination of intensive-longitudinal survey data with continuously collected sensor data opens up new perspectives for social science research.
