In the digital age, there are clear individual differences in online news consumption, particularly with regard to political content. A new study by GESIS in collaboration with the University of Mannheim has shown that political news consumption is less frequent compared to non-political content and is more strongly related to one's own political bias. This trend is particularly noticeable in the US, where the most conservative news users tend to favor strongly right-wing sources for political news.
