New update for R package “resquin” – More functions for better response quality analysis

Categories: GESIS-News

The R package “resquin,” short for “response quality indicators,” has been updated and now offers even more options for analyzing and evaluating response quality. The new features are designed to help researchers and data specialists examine their data more accurately and arrive at relevant results more quickly.

Extended measurement of straightlining

Two new functions, resp_nondifferentiation() and resp_patterns(), enable a more detailed measurement of “straightlining.” Straightlining refers to the phenomenon whereby respondents to surveys or experiments often give similar answers without careful consideration.

Clearer results

The updated summary() and print() functions give users a quick and clear overview of the results. These functions summarize the most important metrics, making it much easier to understand and interpret the data.

New flagging function

Another new feature is the flag_resp() function. It allows low-quality responses to be automatically flagged. This enables researchers to identify problematic data sets in advance and take targeted steps to clean up the data.
