GESIS Panel

Call for new members of the GESIS Panel scientific advisory board

Application deadline: November 23, 2025

The GESIS Panel invites applications for membership in its scientific advisory board, the GESIS Panel Coordination Group. The GESIS Panel is part of GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Mannheim (Germany) and offers the social science community a unique opportunity to collect survey data within a probability-based mixed-mode access panel.

As a member of the Coordination Group, you will help us shape the future of the GESIS Panel by providing crucial input in the areas of survey methodology, quality assurance, and strategic development. See our website for the list of current Coordination Group members.

Members of the GESIS Panel Coordination Group are appointed for a four-year term. The group works on a voluntary basis and meets once a year. Group members can participate in these meetings either in-person or virtually. Travel expenses are borne by GESIS.

Applications for the current vacancies are open to scholars holding a Ph.D. with expertise in survey-based research, preferably from the social sciences and related disciplines such as sociology, political science, (social) psychology, economics, communication science, survey methodology or demography. Applicants should have experience with GESIS Panel or similar data collection infrastructures. The working language of the Coordination Group is English; knowledge of German is not required.

If we have sparked your interest, please send your CV and a short letter of motivation (max. 300 words) to carina.cornesse(at)gesis(dot)org by November 23, 2025. We look forward to receiving your application. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
