Data Access GESIS Panel.dbd
The data collected to date from the GESIS Panel.dbd Digital Behavioral Data Sample is published in different data set versions for different types of access (see below).
In the future, it will also be possible to link the survey data provided with a wide variety of digital behavioral data.
The different GESIS Panel.dbd Dataset Editions:
Standard Edition (Scientific Use File)
Cumulative data set including data from all waves published to date.
Extended Edition (Secure Scientific Use File SUF)
This cumulative data set with data from all previously published waves including various sensitive variables is currently still in preparation. Please contact us for further information.

GESIS Panel.dbd Data: Standard Edition
The Standard Edition contains the cumulative data set with the data from the last published wave as well as revisions from previous waves. It is a scientific use file that is accessible for research purposes. The data will be made available as soon as possible after the survey period.

GESIS Panel.dbd Data: Extended Edition
The Extended Edition is a secure Scientific Use File that is only available for on-site use at the GESIS Secure Data Center. For data protection reasons, some variables are not included in the Standard Edition, but only in the Extended Edition. The differences between the versions are marked in our online codebook. The Extended Edition of the GESIS Panel.dbd thus contains the entire Standard Edition, plus various sensitive variables from the last published survey wave and from earlier waves. The data are currently in preparation.
Cite the GESIS panel data in your publications
Researchers are required to cite the data set they use in publications with the correct ZA version number and DOI. Here is an example citation for version 52.0.0 of the standard edition:
