GESIS Panel

Data collection with the GESIS Panel.pop

Due to its random-based mixed-mode design (web-based & paper questionnaire), the GESIS Panel.pop Population Sample is suitable for research that aims to draw conclusions on the adult German-speaking population of Germany.

The survey data from the studies accepted in GESIS Panel.pop are integrated into our data set, which contains the data from all previous survey waves of GESIS Panel.pop. This also contains the data from our own longitudinal core studies, which we collect in each wave. Overall, our data set contains an enormous range of surveyed characteristics on a wide variety of topics. This allows you to analyze your survey data in a broad context.

Below you find an overview of the submission options for collecting data with the GESIS Panel.pop.

Regular Submission to the GP.pop
A Regular Submission offers researchers the opportunity to collect cross-sectional or longitudinal data with up to four experimental groups and five minutes of survey time per wave.

Short Submission to the GP.pop
In the context of a Short Submission, researchers can submit a short questionnaire for the collection of cross-sectional or longitudinal data, which will only undergo an internal review.

Collecting third-party funded studies with the GESIS Panel.pop
For studies in which survey data is to be collected for a planned third-party funded project (e.g. DFG, BMBF), you can reserve survey time in selected GESIS Panel.pop waves in advance.

Data collection in three countries (OPPA)
We offer the possibility of international comparative data collection within the framework of the Open Probability-based Panel Alliance (OPPA). This is an alliance of three probabilistic internet panels: the LISS Panel in the Netherlands, the Understanding America Study (UAS) in the USA and the GESIS Panel.pop Population Sample.
