Within each data collection wave, about five minutes of interviewing time are reserved for thematic modules of the GESIS Panel Longitudinal Core Study.
One aim of the GESIS Longitudinal Core Study is to measure longitudinally frequently demanded characteristics of enduring interest to the social sciences. Another aim is to assess indicators and proxy variables of data quality with a view to facilitating the estimation of potential survey errors and biases.
Each year, GESIS Panel Longitudinal Core Study modules are fielded according to the following schedule:
Wave 1 (February - March): Subjective Well-Being
Wave 2 (April - May): Political and Social Participation
Wave 3 (June - July): Environmental Attitudes and Behavior
Wave 4 (August - September): Personality and Personal Values
Wave 5 (October - November) Submodule 1: Media Usage
Wave 5 (October - November) Submodule 2: Work and Leisure
Wave 5 (October - November) Submodule 3: Socio-Demographic Update (two questions)
This wave contains also two questions from the core module zh (wave 6) on the topic of employment.
