Weighting in Practice

Basis for the weighting of survey data and further elaborates various weighting methods based on concrete application examples. The document serves as a basis for a standardised documentation of the weighting processes in the survey programmes of the Integrated Survey and Data Infrastructure (IEDI), as well as to improve the understanding of criteria according to which the weighting of survey data is carried out. It also illustrates the effects of (non-)weighting. In order to ensure the most comprehensive overview possible, different types of design weighting and calibration are explained in more detail and the procedure is explained based on carefully chosen examples.
