Call for Applications KODAQS Data Quality Academy Certificate Program 2026

We are excited to open the call for applications for the KODAQS Data Quality Academy Certificate Program 2026, designed to equip early-career researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds using social science data with innovative tools and comprehensive training to promote quality-assured data handling. The six-month program will take place in an online blended-learning format from March until September 2026. How to apply?

  • Please submit your application through our online registration form.
  • Upload an academic resume or CV.
  • Provide a short personal statement explaining your motivation to enrol.
  • Ensure availability to commit to the whole cycle of the program.

Required technical and academic skills

In order to benefit fully from the certificate program, some prior knowledge and skills are necessary.

  • You are currently enrolled as a doctoral student or recently started a postdoctoral research position.
  • Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis.
  • Prior experience in conducting research on or familiarity with survey methodology.
  • Knowledge of statistical software (e.g. R, Python, or Stata)

Application deadline

  • Applications can be submitted until 8 February 2026.
  • We will notify you about acceptance to the program by 10 Feburary 2026 so you can make travel arrangements for the kick-off event.

Relevant dates

  • The Certificate Program will run from 16.03.2026 to 25.09.2026.
  • Weekly online meetings will take place each Thursday from 10-11 am.
  • Academy Kick-off: 13 March 2026 at the Ludwig Maximilian University-Munich (on-site event).
  • Academy Safari: June 2026 (on-site event, location will be communicated on time).
  • KODAQS Datafest: September 2026 (two day on-site event, location will be communicated on time, Mannheim or Munich).
  • Breaks: There will be a one-week Easter break in April and a three-week summer break in August (03-21 August).

Fees:

The Certificate Program itself has no fees. Please note that the attendance of the three on-site events in Germany is part of the Program's curriculum requirements.
