The German Microdata Lab represents the interests of social research in relation to official statistics as a service facility. As a Research Data Centre of the German Data Forum (RatSWD), its tasks include providing a service and research infrastructure as well as improving access to official microdata.

Research
Since 1987, GESIS has been conducting research on official microdata. The research objects can be roughly divided into the processing of content-related and methodological questions.
