Effect of parental wealth on the child's educational decision: Risk minimization or demotivation?

Project description
The research project is dedicated to the role of parental wealth as an additional social variable of origin in intergenerational status transmission. To this end, we investigate the effect of the wealth of the biological parents at the time the child leaves secondary school on the further educational career. We distinguish between three different career paths: university education, vocational training or a professional career without further education, as well as a third option of choosing neither of these paths. The results of this research project were published in Soziale Welt in 2020.
